Ready to start your journey with clay but not sure if you want to try the wheel or hand building first? This course is the perfect solution for you. We will introduce you to both beginner wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques for a well rounded experience. You will learn the A - Z process of transforming wet clay to finished glazed work, with opportunities to make both sculptural and functional ceramic art!
This class is perfect for total beginners, or folks looking to dive back in after a long hiatus.
Your class includes one 25lb bag of clay, 6 open studio passes, all necessary tools, firing and galze.

What you learn: Wheel (3 days)
Wheel throwing is a great method for creating pottery, typically associated with creating cups, bowls, vases and other functional ware. Students will learn wheel essentials such as: Wedging, centering, pulling forms, and trimming.
What you learn: Handbuilding (2 days)
Handbuilding is everything made with clay off the wheel and includes learning multipule techniques to create sculptures and functional ware alike!
Students will learn handbuilding techniques such as: slab construction, coilbuilding and texture.
What you will learn: Glaze (1 day)
After a week break to allow for work to be fired, students will learn about surface design, glazing, techniques and the many options for finishing a piece of work.
All ages 18+
